Darkness (Poem)

May 04, 2021

Through the darkness there is a light.
You just can’t see it through the fight.
Drowning in the depths of the unknown.
Fighting to make your way back home.
Riding the waves, up and then down.
The room is silent. There’s nobody around.
Clawing, scratching, chewing to the bone.
Choking on the consumption of being alone.
The darkness fades as rainbows appear.
Their colors so distant reflect in the mirror.
Morning comes, and you realize you’re still here.
But the darkness doesn’t fade or disappear.
The moon shines bright high in the sky above.
And you realize deep down that you are loved.
Through the darkness there is a light.
You just can’t see it through the fight.
